Pediatric Care

In addition to expert care for acute and chronic conditions, we also focus on preventive care for kids. Prevention includes regular checkups, vaccinations against common diseases, and education about how you and your child can contribute to their own good health by eating right, getting adequate sleep, enjoying daily physical activity, and participating fully in all aspects of life.

The American Academy of Pediatrics advises teens and young adults should have well checkups annually. They should also be seen for problems such as:

  • Fever higher than 102
  • Frequent sore throats or earaches

Vaccinations

To ensure your child’s optimal health, it’s important to schedule regular visits with your pediatrician for the first two years of his or her life, when growth and development are rapid. Once your child reaches three years old, well-child visits can be scheduled less frequently; once a year is recommended.
